Operations/ Trucking Supervisor Responsibilities To lead and develop our operations throughout Nigeria, with initial focus on Lagos. The job will entail developing our service portfolio, import/export of containerized/reefer cargo, complex projects, management of warehousing etc. We are looking for an outstanding, ambitious individual with the ability to thrive in a challenging environment. You are a proactive, dedicated and result oriented individual with good interpersonal skills who takes a customer centric approach and understands the effects of time and cost to any operation. Preferred candidates: 30 – 45 years old Nigerian National University degree or equivalent in a relevant field 7 years of experience in logistics in Nigeria 3 years experience in a leadership position Proven track record of entrepreneurship and performance. Accountabilities/Objectives: Ensure smooth and efficient operation/service delivery of all jobs Develop, build, lead and motivate the Operations Team Meet all targets to performance and volume as set forth and agreed with Management Ensure adherence to the Group Guidelines (Communication, IT, Contracts, Values etc.) Ensure relevant SOPs/IOPs are in place and up-to-date Apply client centric approach to performance and minimize cost exposures Provide weekly activity reports to management with performance measurements Conduct Performance Appraisals, set objectives, maintain Job Descriptions for all subordinates Negotiate and enter into contracts with relevant subcontractors (Truckers, Clearing Agents etc.) Ensure availability of trucking capacity for all deliveries Ensure a cost efficient operation and identify cost reductions/inefficiencies Limit risk exposure through responsible proactive operation Secure sufficient human resources and assets available to perform timely clearing/deliveries . 2) Operations Team Coordinator Responsibilities The Operations team Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring activities of the Operations executives, allocations of vessels to terminals, advising vessel rotation numbers and ensuring proper transfer of containers to appropriate terminals thereby delivering the best customer proposition to our customers. Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Team coordinator will be overall responsible for : Receiving delivery data and scrutinizing clearing documents Lodging of entries Customs examination Client delivery Documentation of logistics documents Follow up on Risk Assessment Report (R.A.R) transfer for shipments from Apapa to Kirikiri Allocating files to operations staff Liaising with Terminals. Other Areas of Responsibility: Monitoring and complying with delivery target for clients Ensuring return of empty containers and processing of deposits refund where applicable Proffering solutions to clients on operations related issues via the customer service desk Advising Customer Service on location of container and where duty is to be remitted Cross checking documents received from clients to ensure correspondence with duty rates/ requirements Other port related issues that may arise Representing the company at stakeholders meeting at the port. Job Profile / Requirements Hands on experience of terminal operations (minimum of 3years) Local experience with port personnel General shipping/ logistics knowledge Operational understanding of logistics activities pertaining to Customs House Brokerage (CHB) and Drayage business etc. 3) Clearing Assistants Requirements/Responsibilities Assisting the Clearing Manager with clearing of goods at the ports. This role is strictly for candidates that worked or are still working with a clearing & forwarding firm/outfits. Please, candidates are strongly advised not to apply if "THEY HAVE NEVER WORKED AS A CLEARING OFFICER OR AGENT" in any clearing outfit.
